DALLAS, TX – August 29, 2013 – MICROSENS, the German specialist for fiber-optic transmission systems, has appointed ABP Technology as the exclusive MICROSENS distributor for the Americas. ABP Technology is a leading distributor of IP Communications and IP Infrastructure products and solutions in the United States. ABP Technology will provide the North American, Latin American and Caribbean markets with MICROSENS’ proven Gigabit Ethernet switches.
The miniaturized "Fiber To The Office" (FTTO, FTTD) concept developed by MICROSENS combines the advantages of future-proof fiber-optic technology, compact and energy efficient design and the flexibility of copper-based twisted-pair cabling at the end. The new Profi Line Modular Series switches eliminate the 100m barrier of copper-based Ethernet, and replace it with quasi-unlimited distance of fiber. This generation of Gigabit Ethernet switches by MICROSENS is a milestone in the field of high-efficiency FTTO networking.
Fiber to the Desk is the fastest, most future-proof solution and is frequently less expensive than running copper, especially in larger buildings. MICROSENS provides a de facto Fiber to the Desk solution with Gigabit Ethernet and PoE termination.
