ABP announces an innovative use of Altai Super WiFi and Mobotix cameras
ABP announces an innovative use of Altai Super WiFi and Mobotix cameras to solve a Video Surveillance project that was plagued by the usual problems of cabling to the NAS and the real-time network data through-put and accessibility.
The problem was that a Marina, located on one of the largest lakes in the Mid-West, needed to install a video surveillance system to monitor the large investment housed at the facility and also enable customer access to view their property on-line.
The ABP solution was made relatively simple by combining the flexibility of the Altai Super WiFi and the rugged high resolution IP Mobotix camera product line. After analysis of the requirements, ABP recommended a network of 8 Altai C1s collocated with the Mobotix cameras. The network was based on an Altai A3 AP hub with the C1s / Mobotix cameras subtending. The network is shown below.
An Altai A3 was utilized as the backbone network hub located at the head-end NAS location and at each camera location we collocated an Altai C1 with the Mobotix camera. Actually, more than one camera can be connected to the C1 if necessary.
The diagram demonstrates the method for collocation and connectivity between the C1 and the camera. This was relativity simple whereby the POEs for the C1 and the camera was located in an environmental NEMA box connected to AC power. The C1 was configured in Station Mode and connected via RJ45 cabling to the Mobotix camera and served as the repeater / bridge for IP video data.
The installation only took a few days to complete and now the Marina owner and his clients can view the Marina remotely at their convenience. Local private security, as well as Public service, also has full access to the Video Security Surveillance system. The Customer, his clients and our VAR are extremely satisfied with this real-time solution.
